Lego Mindstorms
Tom says:
I have bought Lego Mindstorms with my birthday money. Thank you very much to everyone who sent me some. Please look at my Mindstorms movie.
Dave says:
At last Mindstorms arrived back in New Zealand and we were able to get a set. Tom was transcended into boy heaven as he built his first couple of models using the ultrasonic sensor, the sound sensor and the touch sensor to make an "attack scorpion" - what else?
We managed to drag him away from it this afternoon to visit "The Da Vinci Machines" exhibition at Otago Museum where we got to view and play with "over 50 models (including) many hands-on exhibits – from the anemometer, an instrument used to control flight, to more well known inventions such as the arched bridge, fly wheel, ball bearings and jack."
It was very impressive! Hopefully we get out tomorrow and do something in the outdoors - weather permitting!

Tom, that looks amazing. I can't wait to see what you will be able to do in a few weeks time. Are you going to teach Dad how to use it? I think Booker should buy some. What do you think? Keep me informed of new things you can get the robot to do.
