A Sunny Winter's Day in Karitane
Wendy is on nights at the moment so when Blair phoned this morning to say that he was taking his kids to Karitane and wondered if we would like to fill the three empty spaces in his car, we jumped at it. The day started frosty so we wrapped up well, but out in the sunshine it felt wonderful. We had a unsuccessful attempt at fishing and a very successful play on the beach. The lack of fish may have had something to do with the very large sea lion that was cruising around - even the Kingfisher that we watched didn't seem to have had much luck! A great day = thanks for inviting us guys!!! :-)

Thanks for coming it was a stunner of a day, wasn't it? The kids had such a great time and it was great to see them enjoying the beach. Unfortunate about the fish. I thought we were on to a sure thing when we saw all the locals lined up with their rods. Slight consolation that they did no better than us!
